A sculptural wall piece with many drawers. Inspired by film Forrest Gump, "My mama always said, life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." In this piece, I experiment between logic and chaos, geometric and organic, design and chance, then observe how those conflict elements interact with each other and how the interaction changes my way of thinking. All these rectangular moving parts are drawers that can be pulled out or pushed in. You can decide which drawers you would like to include in the puzzle. In this way, you create a unique pattern that is specifically belongs to you. The drawers are for small and precious objects, such as meaningful jewelries or notes to yourself or your significant others. 12.5”(H) x 25”(W) x 2”(D). Made from maple. Techniques including CNC, hand carving and sanding.
